Two different takes on foster teens – Short Term 12 and Foster teens on a new course at UCLA. The film Short Term 12 explores pyonnet and difficult travails of the lives of foster teens with a sense of hope. The YouTube video “Foster teens on a new course at UCLA” shows that there are constructive measures ongoing in Westwood. How wonderful!!

Yes, this is wonderful and it is particularly cool that it is in our own backyard, but at the same time, it is unspeakably sad how few foster kids make it into this program. The few “winners” should not blind us to the many many many “losers,” in the sense of opportunity, not in a personality sense. Thanks.
